Amber is a starving collage student with a image she is determined to keep and will do anything for money. Amber having only had one sexual encounter n her life take on a wager to stay in the haunted Murdock house, this is a feat that no paranormal investigation team has been able to meet. Amber finds that other than being haunted is also filled with five werewolves that are ready to mate. In essence this book is a glorified sex fest with a limited story line. If this is what you like this book is for you however, if you like a storyline then not so much. I received a copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
This short story is quite different from my normal reads. The setting was eerie and I really wasn't sure what to expect. It could have been longer with more character development and a more flushed out ending.
On a bet Amber stays in an empty vacant house. Is this one bet too many for Amber to win? Five werewolves kidnap her and she becomes their mate. Too far fetched for me! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and am giving an honest review.
This was very different from most werewolf stories. I really liked the beginning, but the other dimensions, and the dirty mattresses is not for me. I also had issues with her weight being a reason for human males to not want her, but being excited that the werewolves that kidnapped her desired her, and wanting them. So, this normal young woman going to another dimension after being kidnapped by werewolves to become their sex slave for life is a little much for me, but I thought it was well written, so if that is something you would like, you will probably like this one.
When a large woman, a young woman who's only had sex once in her life, accepts a wager to spend the night in an isolated, haunted house, she finds herself facing unimagined life changes when she encounters a family of five males looking for a mate - and they all want her!
The story is quite provocative, considering the heroine arrives at the hot conclusion against her will, but the exotic nature of a non-traditional love relationship, even at the expense of her freedom, is a thrill. But, c'mon, it's the taboos that quicken the pulse... Sweet discomfort, guilty pleasure.
Possible Spoilers, I tried to keep it vague, but still needed to put my point across.
I have read this as part of a K. Matthew boxset and I must say that I did not find this book to be as enjoyable as the others within the boxset, the lead female was week and kind of pitiful, in her situation most women would have put up a much bigger fight, I would have and I'm just a housewife.
As for the dimensional portals stuff I found that just a convenient way to detain the captive, I think that this could have been so much better if it had a bit more realism, fine travel to a new dimension but make the dimension plausible, not just a quick fix.
I'm giving it 3 stars because to be honest I found it lacking.
